Simple
The AV Guys specialise in bespoke media wall installations across Hertfordshire and Essex, creating stylish and functional entertainment spaces tailored to your home. From built-in electric fireplaces and recessed TVs to integrated sound systems, LED lighting and custom shelving, we design and install stunning media walls that combine modern aesthetics with seamless technology, transforming your living space into a beautiful entertainment centre.
Custom Media Wall Installation for Modern Living Spaces
At The AV Guys, we believe a professionally designed media wall installation should be far more than simply mounting a television above an electric fireplace. We take the concept several steps further, designing and building bespoke entertainment spaces where the construction, television, audio, lighting and technology are planned together from the very beginning. Think less traditional media wall and more bespoke cinema wall – a purpose-built feature that can transform both the appearance of your room and the way you enjoy films, television, music, gaming and sport. Depending on your requirements, your design can incorporate a large wall-mounted TV, electric fireplace, integrated speakers, soundbar, surround sound, smart lighting, illuminated shelving, equipment compartments and practical storage, all brought together within one carefully considered installation. We can create everything from a simple contemporary TV media wall through to a dramatic floor-to-ceiling cinema feature with concealed technology and immersive sound. Every project is designed around the dimensions and style of your room, your preferred viewing position and the equipment you want to use. Rather than forcing technology into a finished wall afterwards, we plan the entire installation as one complete system, resulting in a cleaner appearance, better equipment placement and a media wall that feels like it has always belonged in your home.
Integrated Speakers, Surround Sound & Home Cinema Audio
One of the biggest differences between a standard media wall and an installation from The AV Guys is the attention we give to sound and home cinema performance. A stunning television deserves audio to match, which is why we can incorporate everything from a high-quality soundbar through to a complete multi-speaker surround sound system as part of your media wall design. Depending on your room, budget and preferred appearance, speaker options can include discreet in-wall speakers, on-wall speakers, bookshelf speakers, centre speakers, subwoofers and ceiling speakers, allowing us to create anything from a clean minimalist audio system to an immersive home cinema experience. Where surround sound is required, we can carefully consider the position of the television, seating area and individual speakers so that the audio system is designed around how the room will actually be used. Cabling can be planned and installed during construction, helping eliminate visible wires and avoiding compromises later. We can also provide suitable spaces for AV receivers, amplifiers, streaming equipment, games consoles and other components while considering ventilation and future access. The result is a media wall with integrated audio that doesn’t just look impressive in photographs – it delivers the sound and performance you expect every time you sit down to watch a film, listen to music or enjoy the big game.
Smart Lighting & Electric Fireplaces for the Complete Cinema Wall
Lighting is one of the most effective ways to transform a good media wall into a truly impressive feature, and The AV Guys can incorporate a wide range of LED and smart lighting options directly into your design. Rather than treating lighting as a finishing touch, we can consider it alongside the television, speakers, shelving and fireplace so that every element complements the finished installation. LED accent lighting can be positioned behind the television, within recessed shelving, beneath cabinets, around architectural details or throughout selected areas of the wall to create depth and atmosphere. Smart lighting options can provide even greater flexibility, allowing you to change the mood of your entertainment space depending on what you’re doing. You might want subtle ambient lighting for a movie night, brighter illumination when entertaining guests or a completely different scene for gaming and music. A modern electric fireplace can also be incorporated as a focal point beneath or alongside the television, with the dimensions and position carefully considered as part of the overall design. Combined with a large-screen TV, professional audio and intelligent lighting, these features can turn an ordinary living room wall into a sophisticated cinema-style media wall that looks fantastic during everyday use and becomes something completely different when it’s time to sit down and enjoy a film.
Bespoke Construction, Plasterboard, Timber, Storage & Concealed Cabling
No two homes are exactly the same, and we don’t believe media walls should be either. Our bespoke media wall installations can be designed around your available space, interior style, equipment and practical storage requirements, giving you far more flexibility than an off-the-shelf solution. Depending on the design, we can incorporate timber construction, plasterboard sections, recessed TV areas, floating shelves, illuminated display areas, equipment compartments, cupboards and additional storage, helping create a feature that is both visually impressive and practical for everyday life. Careful planning also allows power, HDMI, speaker, network and other AV cabling to be routed discreetly within the structure, reducing visible cables and creating a much cleaner finished appearance. We can consider where games consoles, streaming boxes, routers, AV receivers and other equipment will be positioned while ensuring they remain accessible for maintenance and future upgrades. Ventilation and heat management can also be considered where equipment is being housed within enclosed sections. Whether you prefer a minimalist media wall with clean architectural lines or a larger statement installation incorporating storage, lighting, speakers and an electric fireplace, we can tailor the construction around your vision. The result is not simply somewhere to mount a television, but a purpose-built entertainment wall designed around both the technology and the room itself.
Experienced Media Wall & Cinema Wall Installers
Choosing the right media wall installer is particularly important when the project involves much more than basic construction. The AV Guys bring together experience in professional AV installation, television mounting, home cinema, surround sound, networking, lighting and integrated technology, allowing us to consider how every part of the finished system needs to work together. Our proven track record means we understand that the details hidden behind the finished wall can be just as important as what you see from the outside. Cable routes, speaker locations, equipment access, network connectivity, ventilation, mounting positions and future upgrade options can all be considered before construction is completed. Whether your vision is a sophisticated TV media wall with an electric fireplace and soundbar, a feature wall with illuminated shelving and integrated speakers, or a complete cinema wall with surround sound, smart lighting, concealed equipment and bespoke storage, our aim is to deliver a professional solution from concept through to completion. Every installation is approached with careful planning, quality workmanship and attention to detail, creating an entertainment space designed around your home and the way you want to use it. With The AV Guys, we go beyond the conventional media wall concept – combining construction, audio, video and intelligent lighting to create a complete home cinema and entertainment experience that performs just as impressively as it looks.

FAQ's
Do you install bespoke media walls in Hertfordshire and Essex? Yes. The AV Guys design and install bespoke media walls and cinema walls across Hertfordshire and Essex. Our installations can combine TV mounting, electric fireplaces, smart lighting, speakers, surround sound, shelving and storage within one professionally designed entertainment feature. Every media wall is tailored around the room, equipment and style you want to achieve.
How much does a media wall installation cost? The cost of a media wall installation depends on the size and complexity of the design, construction required and the technology being incorporated. A straightforward TV and electric fireplace media wall will differ in price from a complete cinema wall with integrated speakers, surround sound, smart lighting and bespoke storage. We can arrange a survey and provide a clear quotation based on your individual design.
Can you install a TV and electric fireplace into a media wall? Yes. TV and electric fireplace combinations are among the most popular media wall designs. We carefully plan the positioning and dimensions of each component so they work together visually within the finished wall. Your design can also incorporate shelving, storage, lighting and audio equipment to create a complete entertainment feature rather than simply a TV mounted above a fireplace.
Can you build surround sound and speakers into a media wall? Yes. This is where The AV Guys can take a traditional media wall much further. We can incorporate soundbars, in-wall speakers, on-wall speakers, bookshelf speakers, subwoofers and surround sound systems into the overall design. Speaker positioning and cabling can be planned before construction, helping us achieve a cleaner finish and a more immersive home cinema experience.
Can you install smart lighting in a media wall? Yes. We can integrate LED and smart lighting into media walls, including lighting behind the television, around shelving and within other architectural features. Smart lighting can be used to create different scenes and atmospheres for watching films, gaming, entertaining or relaxing, helping transform your media wall into a more immersive entertainment space.
What is the difference between a media wall and a cinema wall? A traditional media wall generally focuses on integrating a television, fireplace and shelving into a feature wall. Our cinema wall installations can take this concept considerably further by incorporating professional audio, surround sound, integrated speakers, smart lighting, concealed AV equipment and carefully planned viewing positions. Think less media wall and more bespoke home cinema experience – combining interior design, construction and AV technology within one complete installation.
