Professional Starlink Installation in Hertfordshire & Essex
At The AV Guys, we provide professional Starlink installation services for homes, businesses and rural properties across Hertfordshire and Essex. Starlink satellite broadband can provide an alternative internet solution for locations where traditional fibre, cable or telephone-line broadband is unavailable, slow or unreliable.
We take care of the physical installation of your Starlink equipment, including identifying a suitable location, secure mounting, discreet cable routing and connection to your home or business network. Every installation is carefully planned around the layout of your property and the need for a suitable view of the sky, helping your Starlink equipment operate reliably while maintaining a clean and professional finish.
Secure Starlink Mounting & Discreet Cable Installation
Correct positioning is an important part of a reliable Starlink installation, particularly where surrounding buildings, trees or other obstructions could affect satellite visibility. Before installation, The AV Guys assess suitable mounting locations and determine a practical route for the required cabling.
Depending on the property and equipment requirements, Starlink can be securely installed in an appropriate elevated location using a suitable mounting solution. Cabling is then carefully routed into the property, with external cable runs secured and internal wiring kept as discreet as possible. Our aim is to create an installation that is not only functional and secure but also professionally finished, avoiding unnecessarily exposed cables or poorly positioned equipment around your home or business.
Starlink WiFi, Ethernet & Complete Network Integration
Installing Starlink is only one part of creating reliable internet connectivity throughout a property. Once the Starlink connection enters your home or business, The AV Guys can integrate it with a professionally designed WiFi and wired network to distribute connectivity wherever it's required. We can install WiFi access points, Ethernet cabling, network switches and other suitable networking equipment to improve coverage across larger homes, offices and commercial premises. Hardwired connections can also be provided for smart TVs, computers, CCTV systems, home offices and other equipment where connection stability is particularly important. Rather than relying solely on a single router to cover an entire property, we can design the wider network around the building and the number of connected devices you need to support.
Why Choose The AV Guys for Your Starlink Installation?
Homeowners and businesses across Hertfordshire and Essex choose The AV Guys because we provide more than basic Starlink mounting. Our experience in WiFi, structured networking, long-range wireless connectivity, CCTV and smart technology means we can consider how your Starlink broadband needs to work throughout the entire property. From the initial assessment and suitable dish positioning through to secure mounting, discreet cable routing, WiFi improvements, Ethernet connections and network configuration, we can manage the complete installation.
We can also work alongside builders and electricians on new builds, renovations and commercial projects to ensure the necessary network infrastructure is incorporated at the correct stage. Whether you need Starlink for a rural home, farm, office, commercial premises or a property with unreliable conventional broadband, The AV Guys can provide a professional installation designed around reliable connectivity, tidy workmanship and your future networking requirements.
Starlink for Rural Homes, Farms, Businesses & Outbuildings
Starlink can be particularly useful for rural properties, farms, equestrian centres, stables, workshops and businesses where conventional broadband options are limited. The AV Guys can take the Starlink connection and extend it beyond the main building using hardwired network infrastructure or professional point-to-point wireless bridge systems. This makes it possible to provide connectivity to barns, stable blocks, garden rooms, offices, workshops and other outbuildings without requiring a separate broadband service in every location. Where site conditions and suitable line of sight allow, long-range wireless links can connect buildings over significant distances. We can also use the network to support CCTV, AJAX smart security, business systems and other connected technology across larger sites, creating one coordinated connectivity solution around your property.

FAQ's
What is Starlink? Starlink is a satellite internet service that leverages a network of over 5,000 satellites orbiting at approximately 550 km above Earth. Unlike traditional satellite providers that operate in higher geostationary orbits (over 35,000 km), Starlink’s low-orbit satellites dramatically reduce latency and improve connection quality.
What does it do? Starlink broadband, developed by SpaceX, is revolutionizing internet connectivity, especially for rural and remote areas. Utilizing a low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation, Starlink delivers high-speed, low-latency internet to areas where traditional broadband is unreliable, expensive, or completely unavailable.
What speed can I expect? Starlink users can expect: Download speeds: 150 Mbps to 300 Mbps (with some users experiencing up to 300 Mbps) Upload speeds: 10 Mbps to 40 Mbps Latency: As low as 20 ms in optimal conditions These performance metrics rival or even surpass many DSL and fixed wireless options in underserved regions. Starlink is continuously upgrading its infrastructure, and speeds are expected to improve with the deployment of more satellites and the implementation of laser inter-satellite links (also known as space lasers), which enhance data routing and reduce dependency on ground stations
What is it good for? 1. Remote Work and Learning With the rise of hybrid and remote work, Starlink enables professionals and students to access reliable video conferencing, cloud apps, and large file transfers, even from remote cabins or rural homes. 2. Streaming and Entertainment Say goodbye to buffering. Starlink supports HD and 4K streaming on platforms like Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+, bringing modern entertainment to areas previously stuck with slow or no internet. 3. Online Gaming Gamers can enjoy low-latency multiplayer experiences thanks to Starlink’s fast ping rates, something rarely possible with legacy satellite internet. 4. Smart Home Integration From smart thermostats to home security systems, Starlink enables reliable connectivity for a growing array of smart devices. Read less
Does my dish need to roof mounted? The best guidance we can give is to install your Starlink at the highest elevation possible, with a clear view of the sky. Users who live in areas with lots of tall trees, buildings, would benefit from a professional roof installation by the team at The AV Guys. The AV Guys would recommend installing your Starlink dish at height whether that is on the chimney stack or attached to the apex of the building. This will give your starlink dish the best possible signal away form any obstructions.
How long does the installation take? The installation typically takes around 3 - 4 hours. However if Wi-Fi boosters are required the installation can take anything up to 8 hours.
